   Five years after the economic decline triggered by the housing collapse killed the newest hotel in Placerville, the City of Placerville votes for a subsidy for the Camino area hotel to the tune of up to $6,000,000.

Last December, for almost two million dollars, Hampton LLC purchased the 3 acres of land at the northeast corner between Jacquier road and Highway 50.  Wasatch Growth Partners is a Utah based developer.

  Call it a renovation, upgrade or expansion. Either way, El Dorado County landmark Poor Red's Bar-B-Q is getting closer to reopening.

The bar and restaurant is expected to be ready for customers in March, according to the business partners involved in the venture. Jeff Genovese, Mike Genovese and Mike Hountalas are leading the project.

Tahoe Gaming Sees Big Increase from Last Year

 South Lake Tahoe’s gaming revenue for the month was $14.2 million, up 17.3 percent from November 2014.

The Gaming Control Board said statewide gaming revenue was $944.3 million last month compared to $876.2 million in November 2014. The increase came despite a 14.3 percent drop in statewide revenue from baccarat, a major money-making table game, while statewide slot revenue rose 13.2 percent.

The state collected $62 million in taxes on November’s gaming revenue, a 30.7 percent increase from the year before.
